The Chinese Language is classified as a branch of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages and is the indigenous language used by the Han Chinese.
The modern written form is divided into Simplified Chinese (简体中文) and Traditional Chinese (繁体中文). The Simplified Chinese is used by countries such as China and Singapore and is also the form that will be adopted in this website because of its widespread usage.
The Traditional Chinese represents a more complex and authentic way of writing Chinese characters and is the form used by people in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The most widely adopted spoken form is the Modern Standard Chinese also called Mandarin or Putonghua (普通话). This spoken form is also being used in both China and Taiwan.
