The Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower is actually a functioning TV and Radio tower. It is conveniently situated in Shanghai City’s center in Pudong Park of the central financial district of Lujiazui, just beside the Huangpu River.
The Tower’s fascinating design makes it an enduring landmark of Shanghai City commonly seen in advertisements and postcards. There are three large spherical modules and five smaller ones that contain souvenir shops, restaurants and hotels.
A viewing gallery at the topmost module provides breathtaking view of the City of Shanghai. Inside the second large spherical module is the Shanghai Municipal History Museum.
The Oriental Pearl Tower operates from 8.30 am – 9.30 pm daily and entrance tickets are required. The nearest metro station is Lujiazui Station of Metro Line 2.
