Chinese Currency – Yuan (元) or Renminbi (人民币)

The official currency used in China is the Yuan (元) or Renminbi (人民币) (ISO Code CNY; Symbol ¥).  The most common denominations you will see are the following:

Frequently Used Banknotes:

	100 Yuan (100 元) / (一百元) / (一百块)
	50 Yuan (50 元) / (五十元) / (五十块)
	20 Yuan (20 元) / (二十元) / (二十块)
	10 Yuan (10 元) / (十元) / (十块)
	5 Yuan (5 元) / (五元) / (五块)
	1 Yuan (1 元) / (一元) / (一块)

Frequently Used Coins:

1 Yuan (1 元) / (一元) / (一块)

0.5 Yuan (5角) / (五角) / (五毛)

0.1 Yuan (1角) / (一角) / (一毛)

The Yuan (元) or Renminbi (人民币) however is not the official legal tender in Hong Kong and Macau, which use Hong Kong Dollar (ISO Code HKD; Symbol HKD $) and Macau Pataca (ISO Code MOP; Symbol MOP$) respectively.
